Rong County: Leveraging Digital Intelligence to Empower Its Red Cultural Heritage and Polishing the Reputation of Its Flower-Tea and Pottery Capital with Artisanal Excellence

On April 14, a symposium focusing on the integrated development of red culture inheritance and rural revitalization was held in Rong County. Attendees included heads of relevant departments such as the County Party Committee General Office, the County Party Committee Publicity Department, the County Party Committee United Front Work Department, the County Civil Affairs Bureau, the County Veterans Affairs Bureau, and the County Federation of Industry and Commerce, as well as project leader and rural revitalization talent officer Gong Yi, a faculty team from Sichuan Yangtze Vocational College, local internet celebrities Wang Weiyi (“Gongxi’s Tech Life”) and Gong Xun (“Shaoji Ge”), and provincial-level master craftsman in rural areas Zhan Xiaoying.

At the symposium, Yang Jintao, an associate professor at Sichuan Yangtze Vocational College, delivered a keynote presentation on “A Plan for Building a Red-Culture Brand and for Digital Preservation and Innovation at the Rong County Martyrs’ Cemetery.” Starting with the project’s theme, core objectives, and key challenges, he provided a detailed exposition of the strategic approach, including new-media digitalization initiatives and subsequent new-media operations.

Drawing on their expertise in virtual reality, AIGC technologies, and artistic design, the team from Sichuan Yangtze River Vocational College has coordinated task assignments and other operational details to ensure the effective implementation of the proposed plan, thereby laying a solid foundation for technological synergy that supports the digital preservation and brand-driven management of Rong County’s red cultural resources.

On that day, the research team conducted on-site visits to the Rong County Martyrs’ Cemetery and the former site of the Rong County Military Government—two red landmarks that embody the profound historical memory of the Xinhai Revolution and the revolutionary martyrs. The purpose of the field study was to collect scene data for a digital heritage preservation initiative and to validate the technical feasibility of the proposed solution.

The research team also visited Chunlan Tea Industry and Jinding Xianya Tea Industry, aiming to enhance the “Rongxian—Home of Flower Tea” brand through brand design and new-media marketing. In addition, they toured the Terracotta Museum, Shimo Pottery Café, and the Lihao Tianfu Rongxian Center for Integrated Cultural, Tourism, Agricultural, Commercial, Educational, and Creative Experiences, with the goal of leveraging AIGC and artistic design technologies to drive the cultural and creative upgrade of “the Western Pottery Capital.”

According to the County Federation of Industry and Commerce, this project will concurrently cultivate local e-commerce talent through synchrotron radiation. In the next phase, the research team will conduct on-site surveys of sites such as the former residence of Yu Zhang and Dafosi Temple, leveraging collaboration between universities and local authorities to integrate digital technologies, creative design, and talent development into Rong County’s red culture and signature industries. This initiative aims to revitalize the spirit of the First Uprising in the digital age and ensure that the fragrant tea and the unique charm of ceramics provide solid support for rural revitalization.
